PPC

Italy has always played a central role in many fields of physics research worldwide. The idea behind the creation of the Pollica Physics Center (PPC) is to take advantage of this illustrious tradition and create a context, geographic and cultural, that can bring together leading international experts in various fields of theoretical physics. At the heart of the project is the creation of a center for international conferences on various topics related to pure physics.

The activities of the center will take place mainly in the castle of the Capano Princes, with a format characterized by a light schedule and plenty of time for informal discussion and debate, with the goal of facilitating new and innovative collaborations. In addition to promoting the exchange of scientific knowledge between Italy and the rest of the world, the project also wants to be part of a broader program for the valorization of Southern Italy, in particular of the Cilento region.

This will happen both through the possibility of networking between local and international universities, as well as through various outreach events dedicated to the local population. To this end, the PPC aims both at fostering local development and at contributing to the cultural heritage of the region.

To this end, the PPC closely collaborates with both local entities like the Municipality of Pollica, Regione Campania and University of Salerno, as well as national ones like the INFN.
